A New Home for Colorado Startups in Golden

Startups in Colorado have been thriving for years, especially within the tech ecosystems of Denver and Boulder, brimming with energetic entrepreneurs. Golden, Colorado has also been an area of booming growth, thanks especially to sites of exciting innovation like the Colorado School of Mines and the National Renewable Energy Lab, and continues to attract business owners and startups.

Connects Workspace has proudly served this ecosystem since its inception almost eight years ago. A New Home for Colorado Startups in Golden

You may be familiar with our downtown Golden location, but have you visited our newest location at Connects Workspace Red Rocks – a brand new coworking space in Golden, CO situated for ease of accessibility right off I-70 and just a few minutes away from the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre? We’ve intentionally built Connects Red Rocks to be a one-stop shop for everything you and your team need to be supported and productive: plenty of food and beverage options (connected conveniently to sister business Morris & Mae Market) plus ample events for networking and fun. And now, the perfect place to thrive as a startup in Colorado through our brand new monthly series: Golden Startup Coffee.

Kicking Off February 8 at 9 AM:
Golden Startup Coffee. All Entrepreneurs Welcome!

The overall mission of Connects Workspace is to create the space where community, connection, and creativity happens. This Wednesday, February 8, Connects Workspace Red Rocks will continue that mission by hosting the first meeting of Golden Startup Coffee from 9 - 11 AM at the stadium seating inside Morris & Mae.

Golden Startup Coffee is a free monthly morning meetup series taking place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month aimed to help foster a supportive environment so that community members can learn, collaborate, and explore the entrepreneurial journey together. Two short presentations from local entrepreneurs will give them the opportunity to present their business to a room full of their peers and will be followed by an enlightening Q&A discussion!

Featured during this first event are two local entrepreneurs:

Ava Segal of remote-controlled balance therapy robot concept Wobble

Accessible, affordable housing solution Addazu founder Kelly Pickering

Whether you are involved in a startup or looking to expand your network, connecting with others can be one of the most powerful ways to evolve and grow. After all, we’re human, and a naturally social species! And in fact – a study cited by Forbes states that for 78% of startups, informal professional networks and communities are more vital to entrepreneurial success than formal structures such as incubators and accelerators.

3 Tips for Creating Connections

For work or play, connections are a core element to growth and support. Jen Thoemke, Chief Connector and Creator of Connects Workspace and founder of Golden Startup Coffee, shares three actionable ways to make those connections.

  1. Community: Find a community that has a shared interest or hobby. There are social media and meetup groups for all sorts of communities.

  2. Curiosity: Find ways to serve and give back to things you are passionate about.

  3. Courage: Be brave, put yourself out there, and attend events that seem interesting. Use that opportunity to make a few personal connections. You never know where this could lead.
